Mr Shakwa is a qualified master trainer with diverse concurrent experiences comprising 20 years in education and training and facilitation of training in governance and corruption prevention or anti-corruption (5 years), ICTs for education (15 years), HIV and AIDS (10 years) and leadership and management (12 years). He has served the GRN, specifically the Ministry of Education in various positions including Teacher (2 years), Teacher Educator (10 years), Senior Education Officer (2 years) and Chief Education Officer (6 years).
Mr Shakwa has extensive experience in instructional design, curriculum development and education in Namibia. Prior to the founding of the ACEC in 2009, Mr Shakwa had worked for the Ministry of Education for a continuous 15 years in various positions. In his dual role as a Head of Professional Development at Namibia University of Science and Technology and Managing Director for the ACEC (which he does part-time), he has developed the necessary skills in assessing human capacity needs for training and development and then designing appropriate capacity enhancement programs to meet these needs across several fields of work. His diversified academic and professional qualifications render him a master trainer across various fields. This experience has given him a unique insight into the training needs of adult learners (professionals) in different sectors and how the fulfilment of these needs can contribute towards strengthening of organizational development and good governance. He is very experienced in facilitating highly participative and interactive training workshops based on active learning-centred adult learning, principles and pedagogic approaches using modern technology.
